Beta Patch 10 Delayed

Lylirra hit the forums this evening to inform testers that Blizzard has missed their target deployment date for beta patch 10 due to unforeseen issues with the player login system. They are now aiming to have the patch up on Monday, January 23rd. Patch 10 will include all of the changes discussed in Jay Wilson's recent update (although some will be limited as they're still in development).

Quick update for everyone! We've discovered a few issues with Beta Patch 10 which could affect player login. Instead of releasing the patch as-is and addressing those issues later, we felt it necessary to take some time to resolve them now. As a result, the soonest we'll be able to release Beta Patch 10 is next Monday, January 23.


Steve Parker Leaves Blizzard Entertainment

Steve Parker, Senior Video Game Producer on Diablo III at Blizzard Entertainment announced via Twitter that he is no longer with the company. Although nothing official has been said (nor would they ever discuss topics like this publicly), it's unlikely the timing has anything to do with the recent announcement on dramatic game system changes. The departure appears amicable and we can only conclude he left for personal reasons.
