Diablo 4 / The Pale Necromancer is Rathma

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls / Reaper of Souls: Første kig på Adventure Mode

The world of Sanctuary is about to get a whole lot bigger. . .

Introducing: Adventure Mode
In Diablo® III's upcoming expansion, Reaper of Souls™, players will have the opportunity to choose between two different modes whenever creating a new game: Campaign Mode and Adventure Mode.

Campaign Mode:

In Campaign Mode, players reprise their pivotal roles as the heroes of Sanctuary. With a greater focus on story, all of the quests, cut-scenes, and in-game movies will remain available to you in this mode. Progression through the game's five thrilling Acts is intentionally linear. Campaign Mode is very similar to the current Diablo III experience.

Adventure Mode:

In Adventure Mode, the majority of these story-driven elements have been removed and all waypoints have been unlocked, allowing players the freedom to explore and play the game however they like—even across all Acts. The world itself is your battlefield. Go anywhere, slay anything!

These modes can be accessed at any time, and you're welcome to switch between them whenever you please. In addition, we've unlocked all difficulty levels, giving you even more control over your in-game experience. Don't want to play through the story four times on each of your characters? Done. Looking to farm in Adventure Mode at one difficulty, then switch over to Campaign Mode at a different difficulty? You've got it.

But that's just the tip of the iceberg. Adventure Mode also includes two brand new, incredibly entertaining gameplay features: Bounties and Nephalem Rifts.

Bounties:

Having the ability to go wherever you want whenever you want is certainly compelling. But, what if you're not in the mood to choose your own adventure and would instead prefer a little direction? Enter Bounties.

Bounties are optional, randomized objectives available only in Adventure Mode. In addition to providing players with a guided experience within a specific Act, Bounties are also intended to showcase all the different content Diablo III has to offer. Some example of Bounties you can pick up include slaying a unique monster (like Mira Eamon), killing a boss (like Queen Aranae), clearing a dungeon (like the Khazra Den), and completing an event (like Last Stand of the Ancients).

Each Act will have its own set of randomized Bounties for players to explore and conquer, and you'll receive new Bounties each time you start a new Adventure Mode game.

For completing a set of Bounties, players will receive gold and experience. We also want Bounties to provide access to powerful Legendary items unique to the system, but we're still experimenting with how that reward mechanic will work. Definitely stay tuned!

Bounty hunters are also rewarded with a new item, Rift Keystones. Rift Keystones grant access to another feature we're introducing in Adventure Mode: Nephalem Rifts.

Nephalem Rifts:

Nephalem Rifts (previously called "Loot Runs") are randomized dungeons that are designed to be completed within 10-15 minutes. The goal of Nephalem Rifts is to provide players with a rewarding, endlessly replayable experience, one that continually offers new and exciting moment-to-moment gameplay. . .as well as heaps of loot. They're also what senior level designer Jesse McCree likes to describe as an opportunity to "break all the rules."

So, what does this mean in terms of actual gameplay?

First off, it means that Nephalem Rifts are completely randomized, featuring different content from Acts I-V—random interior and exterior tile sets, random layouts, random lighting and weather, random monsters, and (of course) a random boss encounter to cap it all off.  Each Nephalem Rift dungeon can be up to 10 levels deep, but even that's random too!

Here's just a peek at some of the crazy combinations you can experience as a result of this design:

In the spirit of breaking all the rules, Nephalem Rifts also include new shrines that will provide players with some pretty insane temporary buffs when activated, things like invulnerability, massive movement speed boosts, and a lightning aura that will one-shot any enemies who get within range. While these shrines would be overpowered in the campaign, they fit well within the self-contained environment of Nephalem Rifts.

We've had fun experimenting with monster density as well, which means there's always a chance your Nephalem Rift (or even one of the levels within a specific Rift you've opened) might suddenly get a little. . .crowded. For example, what would happen if we paired Skeleton Summoners from Act I and Morlu Incinerators from Act IV? Well, it'd look a little something like this:

(Pretty cool, right?)

To access Nephalem Rifts, simply bring a Rift Keystone to any town hub and click on the nearest Nephalem Obelisk. Step through the portal and get ready to kill ALL the things. As noted above, Rift Keystones can be earned by completing Bounties; however, they can also drop randomly anywhere in the world while in Adventure Mode.

Happy hunting!

BlizzCon 2013 Sneak Peek:
As a special treat, we've put together a short video featuring Nephalem Rifts in all their random, chaotic glory. Please enjoy this first look at Diablo III: Reaper of Souls!

"Forevermore we shall stand together, angels and men, in the light of this glorious new dawn."

Earlier this year, we revealed Diablo III: Book of Tyrael, and today we're pleased to announce this epic compendium is now available for pre-order.

Emblazoned with the emblem of the Horadrim and featuring over 140 pages of tantalizing text, Diablo III: Book of Tyrael is a stunning follow-up to Diablo III: Book of Cain, delving even further into the realm of Sanctuary and the individuals who shaped its fate. In this beautifully-illustrated and comprehensive tome, the Archangel of Wisdom reveals never-before-known secrets about the history of the world, the dark threats that yet face mankind, and his decision to join the ranks of humanity as a mortal. It also includes letters from Leah and additional fragments of Cain's writings, all curated by Tyrael as he weaves together a series of complex and fascinating stories for future generations.

In addition, Diablo III: Book of Tyrael features a fully removable illustration of the Leoric family tree and other influential characters from Old Tristram including Deckard Cain, Prince Albrecht, Archbishop Lazarus, King Leoric, Prince Aidan, Queen Asylla, Leah, and Adria.

You're bound to encounter some familiar faces within its lush pages.

In preparation for its release in October, Insight Editions has launched a special landing page for this remarkable companion book. Adventurers keen to journey deeper into the depths of Sanctuary's lore and experience every last inch of this heavenly artifact can visit Insight Edition's site for more details about Diablo III: Book of Tyrael.

Interested in reserving a copy of your own? Make sure to place your preorders to be among the first to experience this new chapter in Sanctuary's continuing saga.

Undertegnede overvejer selv om man skal smide en bestilling ind, specielt efter at have læst Book of Cain.

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls / Nekerat: Now a Random Keywarden i Patch 1.0.8
« Dato: April 14, 2013, 02:52:45 pm »

Nekarat should have the chances to drop random key (act 1, 2, 3 key) when you beat him. At least people won’t feel like gimped or robbed when they are farming at act 4.
Also, Act 4 mob density needed to increase further. Same goes to elite amounts.

Wait a minute, what if I want the tome, do I now have 1/4 of a chance to get it even at mp10?
It doesn’t impact the drop chance of the plans; it’s actually a bonus.
(The plans can still drop even if you have them, by the way. The game currently doesn’t have a way to check if you have the plans or not. That might be something we work on later, but for now it shouldn’t affect you either way — you can still farm for the plans and/or for the random keys.)

Wyatt Cheng: Yup – it’s a good idea. Andrew just added this! Should be in the next PTR patch.

Mon Nekarat så bliver det nye sted at farme keys?

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls / Har du fundet Leoric's Signet?
      « Dato: Februar 01, 2013, 08:51:25 pm »

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls / Et kort indblik i Blizzards tanker om PvP
      « Dato: Januar 17, 2013, 11:08:54 pm »

So getting one shotted is dueling?

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls / Blazzard kæmper kampen mod botters hver dag!

      Banning Botters Movement!!!
Hi guys, I also realise the botting issue is becoming a little out of control. A friend of mine quit playing last night because he is sick of runing into bots all the time, before he quit he gave me all his gears

I was thinking if we could start a movement where all the legit players go play on a pubic game for 15 minutes every time they log into the game and actively report a few botters to blizzard, hoepfully it’ll get billizzard’s attention and reduce the severity of this situation.

      Det svarede Lylirra på:

      Lylirra @ 02:53:00 21-Nov-2012
An important thing to keep in mind is that we don't make public announcements every time we action players for cheating, and the reason for this is that we are constantly removing this kind of exploitative behavior from the game -- on a weekly basis, sometimes even on daily basis. Public announcements would become tedious if we decided to make one every single time we banned someone for using a bot, a hack, or some other kind of cheat. Instead, we usually will post something whenever we issue a big wave, or whenever we feel like we need to remind players that exploitative behavior is not okay and can lead to a permanent ban from Diablo III.

It's something we take very seriously, though. Our developers, support staff, and anti-hack teams are all busting their butts to ensure that your online experience is as free of cheats, hacks, and bots as possible. From the development side, we look at ways to reduce the effects of exploitative behavior on the community and/or prevent certain programs from working outright. This trick here is to make sure that whatever we do doesn't negatively impact legitimate players, which is actually a very fine tightrope to walk (you saw the complications of that whenever we introduced game limiting). From the support side, we make sure that your in-game reports reach our anti-hacks teams. And from the anti-hack side, we take action on players that we are able to confirm to be maliciously exploiting the game, be it through botting or other forms of cheating.

The reality to all of this, though, is that even though we devote considerable time, effort, and heart to removing bad behavior from the game, there will always be individuals who excel at coming up with new ways of getting around the roadblocks we put up. So, it's a constant battle, but one that we're willing to fight. If you want to pitch in, you can; the easiest way to do so is by emailing hacks@blizzard.com or submitting a report through our webform.

And, just for clarity, let me repeat:

      - Exploitative behavior is not okay (this includes botting).
      - If you are found to be exploiting the game, you can be permanently banned.

Btw as i read on some bot forum (am not botting just like to read the ban reports:) ) the last public statement called “diablo players banned” was about people using maphack and that zoom out thingy not a massive bot banwave.

      Lylirra svarer:
      Citér
It included, but certainly was not limited to, that particular type of behavior. We called it out specifically in the announcement, so it’s nothing new.

Lylirra is one of the only really respected blues, but her response to botting (which I am sure is primarily scripted from management) is extremely weak. Botters and spammers have run rampant since week 1 and from what not only I can tell, but the majority of community as well, is that Blizzard has done very little to actually control, or eliminate them.

      Lylirra svarer:

Not scripted. Not from management. What I wrote is based on my own experiences working at this company for over 6 years. I know almost each and every member of our anti-hack team personally, and I can speak first-hand as to how seriously they treat their role. They work long hours, they invest themselves completely, and they rarely get any praise for what they do because their job is never done.

Yesterday, I spoke with one of the guys on the team for over an hour about how difficult and frustrating it is to keep up with all the different ways that players want to exploit the game. You find a certain kind of automation program and get rid of it, another pops up in its place, and now it’s even harder to detect. Or you know that some players are using a particular type of bot based on intuition and experience on the job, but you can’t prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt. Permanently banning a Diablo III license isn’t something we take lightly, and there’s a lot more that goes into actioning someone for botting than what meets the eye. (Yes, kind of like Transformers, but fortunately with less Shia LeBouf.)

But, to counter your point more specifically, we have done many things to deter botting and remove those who are botting from the game environment. From the development side — just to name a few things — we’ve implemented game limits and AH limits. We’ve painstakingly removed exploitable monsters, chests, events, and locations, or made adjustments to them so that they would not benefit botters. And we continue to add layers to our reporting systems (I’ll pass on your feedback about adding more, though). On top of that, we have meetings each week with the development team to discuss what more we can do to help prevent this kind behavior (like I said previously, though, most solutions would negatively impact legitimate players…for example, CAPTCHA). From the anti-hack side, we monitor for bad behavior around the clock, and we routinely issue ban waves for verified cases of botting. We’ve also brought legal action against several companies who develop these types of programs.

But we agree with you: it’s not enough. Of course, we’re not sure that what we can do will ever be enough (we don’t know if we can eliminate exploitative behavior completely), but we’re willing to try. It’s an ongoing battle, though, not something you win after a couple of quick matches.

      « Dato: November 21, 2012, 03:20:44 pm »

      Hvad sælges guld for?
(I’m sure the Bobby surcharge is throwing off my figures a bit, once you figure a transaction fee to turn $ into gold, and then using that gold to buy the item, so someone who actually does the math feel free to correct.)

      Prøver Blizzard at stoppe botting?

Flere bots = mere guld = højere priser i GAH = mere guld solgt i RMAH.
