Season 12 startdato: 9. november

Season 12 starter d. 9. november (en torsdag), mens den igangværende season 11 afsluttes d. 20. oktober.

Der er blevet sat dato på såvel slutdato på season 11 som startdato på season 12. Og hvis du skal have gang i en all-nighter fra første aften, skal du måske sørge for at tage fri fra arbejde, uddannelse eller skole dagen efter. Season 12 starter nemlig en torsdag.

Sad til en forelæsning om musker og EMG til brug i vores semester projekt for at kontrollerer robotten. Lokalet er beregnet til 45 og vi er lidt over 50 studerende. :-X

Det er ret standard AAU. I hvert fald i min uddannelsestid.

Men jeg tror, jeg så fodbold i dag, mens jeg drak kaffe af min Diablo3x-kop og skrev her på siden :)

Spændende med lidt snak om Diablo3x's tilstand. Super, at det bliver taget op.

Jeg tror, det fra starten er vigtigt at adskille diablo3x.dk som website og diablo3x.dk som ingame clan - og samtidig se på, hvordan de to dele fungerer i samspil og for sig. Jeg blev lidt i tvivl om, da jeg læste indlæggene her, hvornår der snakkes website, og hvornår der snakkes ingame clan. Ikke desto mindre; i mine øjne kan emnet om lav aktivitet ses fra en del forskellige vinkler, så lad mig prøve at komme med et par bud på udviklingen. Jeg kommer ind på clan-delen specifikt til sidst i dette indlæg.

Jeg har været en del af denne side siden 2001 (da den hed d2x.dk), så jeg kan drage en del paralleller og fortælle mange historier om, hvad der udgør et godt og aktivt community, der cirkulerer om en niche, hvor 'niche' her skal forstås som et bestemt spil i en bestemt genre. D2X og Diablo3x har gennemgået rigtig rigtig mange lav- og højaktivitetsperioder. Som indskudt bemærkning må man også erkende, at det at holde et nationalt orienteret niche-website aktivt i 15+ år ikke er en let sag, når der er så langt mellem udgivelserne.

For der er ingen tvivl om, at et website, der beskæftiger sig med én enkelt spil-franchise, har perioder med høj aktivitet og interesse - det så vi f.eks. især omkring Diablo 3 beta, månederne op til D3's udgivelse (og lige efter) samt op til og lige efter udgivelsen af Reaper of Souls. Men man må samtidig erkende, at der i det store perspektiv (som perioden 2001-2017) også er en del døde perioder. Hvis vi zoomer ind på Diablo 3 fra 2012 og frem til nu, er de eneste højdepunkter hen over årene, hvis vi ser bort fra RoS og necropack, at der starter en ny sæson ca. tre gange om året. Her er der mere liv på siden her (og desuden også i clan) - men ind imellem disse perioder er der mere og mere dødt.

Sammenligner vi med perioden, hvor Diablo 2 var spillet, alle spillede, står man som website langt svagere med Diablo 3. I Diablo 2's storhedstid havde man noget at bruge et forum som dette til; der var enormt meget trading, værdifastsættelse af items, PvP og generelt meget mere grobund for theory crafting og build-guides/-diskussioner - nu kigger man på top 10-100 for greater rifts ingame og finder bedste builds, der er ingen trading, og de fleste ingame mechanics er 'dummed down', så de fleste nybegyndere slet ikke behøver involvere sig i fora. Jeg er faktisk af den overbevisning, at Diablo 3 slet ikke har de samme elementer i sig som Diablo 2 til at danne grobund for et community, der altid er i live til trods for de 'døde' perioder. Især ikke et dansk af slagsen, der kun beskæftiger sig med D3.

Før Diablo 3 var det ikke unormalt at se et aktivitetsniveau herinde på siden med omkring 100 posts om dagen - til tider mere - til trods for, at der ikke var ladder reset, patch eller expansion på vej. Det skyldtes til dels, at man med Diablo 2 i højere grad var nødt til at være mere community-opsøgende (for trading bl.a.), hvis man ville have det rigtig sjovt med spillet. Og når det stod sløjt til med aktiviteten omkring Diablo, var der et langt større socialt engagement uden Diablo som samlingspunkt. Off-topic-boardet bar i disse perioder forummet med emner, der intet havde med Diablo at gøre. Den hårde sandhed er, at det er en tendens, der har været faldende i takt med, at Diablo 3 kom i centrum og skubbede Diablo 2 til side. Og det er klart; hvis man ikke har brug for et forum som dette, som man havde med Diablo 2, så bliver man i højere grad inde i selve spillet, hvor man tjekker builds og snakker i clans. Under D2-perioden blev mange flere vævet ind i fællesskabet gennem D2, og man var sociale om andet end D2. Jeg har et indtryk af, at fællesskabet i langt højere grad under D3 er meget mere spil-orienteret - hvilket jo giver god mening. Min pointe er blot, at der ikke er meget til at holde folk involverede, når det ikke lige er D3, man spiller.

Kort opsummeret er min pointe, at der er helt andre vilkår nu i forhold til 'gamle dage' for at drive et community; både dette forum og ingame clan. Når det så er sagt, så skal vi selvfølgelig forsøge at gøre, hvad vi kan for at give de aktive spillere mulighed for at finde og blive en del af clan og denne side.

Og i forhold til vores ingame clan - hvad har dette af relevans i forhold til den? Jo, jeg må nok sige, at en clan med max 150 medlemmer i langt højere grad end et forum/website som dette, er et meget midlertidigt samlingssted for en række mennesker, hvoraf mange har en meget midlertidig og kort interesse i at deltage i ingame-aktiviteter (f.eks. i forbindelse med season-starts). Som I påpeger, er der mange inaktive på clan-listen, og jeg kan sagtens se idéen i at rydde op blandt de mest inaktive.

I mit hoved ville den optimale tilstand være, at man som medlem af diablo3x.dk cirkulerede mellem website og clan, men tendensen er desværre, at man bliver medlem af clan og derefter stille og roligt glider ud - uden nogensinde at blive en aktiv del af diablo3x.dk som website og deltage i theory crafting, trading og alt dét, som man gjorde engang. Og dermed er der ingen grund til at besøge siden, hvis vi ser bort fra nyheder om D3.

Dertil vil jeg dog sige, at jeg personligt deltager i alle seasons i D3 (den igangværende er eneste undtagelse), og jeg oplever i de første uger/den første måned af nye sæsoner en meget aktiv clan inde i spillet. Jeg synes, dét skal tages med i beregningen - og det er klart, at aktiviteten falder hen mod næste PTR-omgang og næste sæson. Og det er meget naturligt, at aktiviteten i clan er højest, når der er noget at tage sig til i spillet.

Men præsterer vi ikke at gøre de inaktive til en del af Diablo3x-sitet, formår vi heller ikke at holde på dem og gøre dem til en del af det aktive community, som d2x/d3x engang var. Websitet skulle i min optik optimalt set være stedet, som fastholdt brugere (aktive som inaktive spillere) mellem 'højsæsoner'.

Så, jeg ser egentlig en aktiv clan og et aktivt website som værende forbundet. Og jeg ville ønske, vi oplevede en større synergi-effekt mellem de to.

Jeg tror ikke, clan-tilstanden kan tilskrives officerer eller manglende oprydning - det er i mit hoved en symptom-behandling. Derimod tror jeg, at den lave interesse for Diablo 3 i Danmark koblet med, at vi som website forsøger at opretholde en decideret 'clan' er en svær balancegang. Dermed ikke sagt, at der ikke skal forsøges noget - så det er rigtig fint med et opråb som i denne tråd. Det viser trods alt, at der stadig er interesse, og det giver måske endda mere lyst til igen at bruge tid på det hele.

Idéen med at gøre clanen synlig er god. Og en henvisning til sitet her er også en god idé. Mht. en større oprydning er jeg splittet. Jeg er enig i, at folk med måske over 6 mdr's offline-tid bør fjernes. Omvendt kan man også stille sig selv spørgsmålet, om det lige netop er nogle af dem, der er mest tilbøjelige til igen at blive aktive medlemmer, når de kommer online igen, og at det derfor vil være en skam at fjerne dem for tidligt? Eller om man mest tror på at slette og få nye medlemmer. Jeg tror, det er en mellemting, og dér kan mange inaktive medlemmer da selvfølgelig samtidig virke skræmmende for nye.

Men lad mig lige i denne ombæring med det samme nævne Mads-wm3 som et stort aktiv for at vedligeholde Diablo3x som website og som clan - til trods for at han pt ikke er 100% aktiv i D3 (ligesom jeg). Det har han gjort hen over en lang række år efterhånden. Derfor kan jeg godt blive en anelse øv over en kommentar som

Det giver meget lidt mening i min verden.

Jeg kan svare for mig selv og givetvis også for Mads, at man gør det af ren god vilje, fordi man gerne vil investere tid i at vedligeholde website såvel som clan. I bund og grund af samme grund, som man overhovedet frivilligt bruger tid på at vedligeholde et website som dette. Som officer i d3x-clan er man ikke 'mere' end andre. Det er jo ikke en clan i den traditionelle forstand, og det vil det aldrig blive. Det er jo blot et samlingssted uden en decideret clan leader; en clan med base i et website, hvor folk kan mødes og snakke og spille sammen. Så at bruge 'skid eller hop af potten'-analogien, synes jeg er en skam og en anelse disrespektfuldt over for Mads.

Dog kan jeg da ikke være uenig med nogen i pointen om, at det ville være rart med flere online til at vedligeholde, så det kan sagtens være, der skal kigges på dette. Nu regner jeg med selv at være en del online i den nye sæson, og så vil jeg selvfølgelig have ekstra fokus på aktiviteten i clan, og se om der er nogen, der med fordel kunne få titlen som 'officer' - hvis eneste rolle er at vedligeholde og moderere hvis nødvendigt. Men jeg er helt overbevist om, at kilden til et mere og mere inaktivt community og inaktiv clan desværre skal findes i en dalende interesse for spillet - og at det er blevet sværere og sværere at engagere brugere i et community med D3. At pege fingre af 'officers' eller de inaktive medlemmer af klanen er lige snævertsynet nok. Men det er da bestemt noget, vi bør se på.

Som sidste del i mit indlæg vil jeg lige nævne, at dette website's formål aldrig har været at have en clan, og er det stadig ikke. Formålet er et aktivt community på denne adresse. Men da Diablo 3 udkom blev det nærmest så oplagt at oprette vores clan, så man kunne mødes let ingame. Så der skal selvfølgelig ses på, om vi kan få mere aktivitet begge steder og gerne i samspil.

At der ikke er noget at tabe og alt at vinde; rolig nu. Lad os prøve at se på aktiviteten omkring season start, hvor jeg vil tro, det hele blomstrer op igen. Vi er i den absolut sidste del af en sæson, som historisk er tidspunktet med absolut laveste aktivitet.

Som tilføjelse går jeg med lidt våde drømme om, at D2 får en genfødsel med et remaster, som det skete med StarCraft. Det ligger mere og mere i kortene, at dette sker. Jeg er sikker på, det vil skabe et meget mere aktivt community.

ADVENTURE MODE

  • Set Dungeons
    • The user interface has been updated to better explain tier completion requirements
      • With this, the basic completion tier must be finished within the given time limit
    • The time limit to complete a Set Dungeon has been increased to 5 minutes
    • Set dungeon monsters are now tracked on the mini-map when the dungeon begins
    • All Basic Tier monster kill requirements have been lowered
  • Greater Rifts
    • Players who die in solo Greater Rifts can now choose to immediately resurrect. When choosing this option, the time remaining on your death timer will be removed from the remaining Greater Rift time and your cooldowns will be advanced by the same amount.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Fixed an issue which sometimes prevented players from completing the “Clear the Forgotten Well” bounty
