So as I have been using xsplit since Public Beta 5, I have seen my ingame FPS with xsplit just open steadily go down.  Tonight I could NOT get l4d2 to run better than 30 fps sitting still.  20 if CI were on screen.  I had tinkered with OBS, and compared to my 130 fps with no streaming software open, OBS let me stay at a stable 90+.  I need to tinker with its settings still, but fuck Xsplit.  Done with it.

--- Citér ---I agree. OBS has worked very well for me when I've used it. It's basically only limited by how good your computer and network is, not by whether you have a subscription or not.

--- Citér ---It's nice to be able to use something so much less bulky and resource-intensive, to be sure. It certainly doesn't hurt that it's free and open-source with an API for plugins, either.

--- Citér ---Leaving my feedback as another testament to this software's credibility.

Following SL's post and experiencing progressively worse resource issues with Xsplit, I decided to give OBS a go. Make the switch.

I was a rare case with YouTube streaming, but a simple help thread was followed up with a prompt and helpful response from the community. Stream was up within seconds.

Software is super simple(without being patronizing) and offers the same features as its commercial competitors.

Open source? Developer support? Expanding feature list? Less resource intensive? Free? OBS is baller.

--- Citér ---Forgot to post in here after I dl'd it.

OBS > everything (by far.)
