Faster Cast Rate er en egenskab der nedsætter den tid ens character er om at kaste magier som ikke er tids baseret. Den tid det tager at kaste en magi måles i noget der kaldes frames. Diablo 2 opdaterer det billede man ser på 25 gange i sekundet og dermed kører det med 25 frames per sekund. Ved at vælge den character som du ønsker at optimere, så fremkommer der en tabel som viser hvor mange frames ens character tager om at kaste de magier som afhænger af Faster Cast Rate. Denne tid det tager, kan så nedsættes ved at få mere Faster Cast Rate fra ens items og dermed går der kortere tid inden man igen kan kaste en magi.
