Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls / Blizzard forbereder til launch
« Dato: Maj 07, 2012, 06:15:49 pm »
En lille hjælp til dem som gerne vil være klar til den store dag!

Citér
As we near Diablo III’s long-awaited May 15 launch date, we have some additional details to share on what to expect, how to prepare, and when you’ll be able to begin installing and playing.

Purchase the Game
If you haven’t already purchased Diablo III you can acquire it directly from Blizzard through the digital presale. You can also preorder the game at most major retailers and fine purveyors of high-quality gaming products worldwide. If you’re interested in the Diablo® III Collector’s Edition, please be aware that this physical retail-only edition is printed in limited quantities and has already sold out in most places that take preorders on games. We recommend calling around and checking if your local retailers will have the Collector’s Edition available.

Create Your BattleTag™
We expect that on launch night both the game service and website will be under very heavy strain due to the immense number of people excited to be among the first playing Diablo III. With that in mind, we highly recommend you create your BattleTag now, as it’s required to play Diablo III. Please keep in mind that this non-unique nickname is a permanent choice, and will display both in-game and on the website, so be sure to choose one you like! (What is a BattleTag?)

Regional Launch Times
As previously mentioned in the announcement of our midnight launch events, the launch time of the game is broken down by region.
The Americas (U.S., Canada, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and South East Asia) servers open at: 12:01 a.m. PDT, May 15

Digital Presale Download
If you’ve purchased a digital copy you can begin downloading your client right now, and we highly encourage you to do so. We also have a Diablo III presale visual guide available that may be helpful. As it may take you some time to download the full game, it’s best that you begin early. This may afford you additional time to troubleshoot any downloader or installer issues you may encounter.

Early Install
We will be unlocking the game's installer at 8:01 a.m. PDT on May 14. This will allow you to begin installing the game, troubleshoot any issues you run into, download and install the launch day 1.0.1 patch, and be ready to play as soon as the servers come online.

Global Play Launch Time
We’ll be turning on Global Play when the game has launched in all regions. This means that you will not be able to play in a region outside your home region until after the Americas’ midnight launch at 12:01 a.m. PDT on May 15. We’ll provide an update once Global Play is enabled, and you’ll then be able to change the region you connect to through the game’s options. Please note that characters, items, and friends lists do not transfer across regions and players who use Global Play to connect outside of their home region will only be able to access the gold-based auction house. More information can be found in our Global Play introduction article.

Launch Night Login
As we’ve unlocked the Diablo III installer early, many people will be ready to log in right when the servers go live at midnight, so we’re going to be closely monitoring the impact on the service. It’s possible we’ll need to adjust the rate at which we’re logging people in to ensure a stable experience, and if we do you may see a delay when attempting to login. Please be aware that a delay of up to 40 seconds is possible while the game attempts to connect you. If your connection doesn’t succeed in 40 seconds, you’ll be presented with an Error 37 message and asked to try again. If you see this error it does in fact mean that you should try again. We’ll be working around the clock to keep you informed of any issues that are occurring through the in-game breaking news window, as well as the official forums.

Please note that the skills system is still considered a work-in-progress and will be undergoing additional changes in future patches. This iteration of the system is not final.
Scroll of Identification have been removed and players can now identify an item by right-clicking on the item’s icon
The Nephalem Cube has been removed and the salvage ability has been added to the Blacksmith artisan
The Cauldron of Jordan has been removed

l

Items
General

Attack, Defense, and Precision random affixes have been replaced with Dexterity, Strength, and Intellect
The base damage on slower weapons has been increased. This is because we’re also increasing the potency of elemental damage properties, and elemental damage benefits faster weapons more than slower weapons.
The drop rate of Magic items between level 1 and level 20 has been lowered. Single affix-Magic items are now introduced more slowly, and double affix-Magic items won’t appear until later in the game.

Vendors

Wandering Merchants now have a 50% chance to sell a limited stock Rare item of any type
Amulets have been moved from the Collector to the Fence

Monsters

Electrified monsters no longer spew lightning on death
Arcane Enchanted monsters no longer cast an extra arcane beam on death
Bug Fixes

Players should no longer be disconnected from Battle.net when moving a stack of 0 items to their Skill action bar
Rapidly moving around items in a character’s inventory should no longer cause those items to become unresponsive
Items that display full durability, but are still considered slightly damaged should now be able to be posted on the Auction House
Monsters that are killed should now always properly play their death animation rather than remain standing

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls / Anyone else feel this way?
« Dato: December 12, 2011, 02:35:14 pm »
En gut fra US forum (Starbird) skriver

Citér
Well it happened. Never thought that it would. I have been following the development of this game for...what? 3 years now. All the rumours, all the blue-skying on the forums, the delays, the ups and downs, all the foot-tapping waiting for news. Now however, I'm starting to feel my anticipation turning into impatience and my optimistic "it's coming soon" turning into "it's coming...eventually".

I thought it was finally going to come to an end. But it looks like it's going to be dragged out for longer. It seems pretty obvious right now that Diablo 3 is going to be delayed until mid 2012 at the earliest (notice how Blizzard have stopped even mentioning 'early').

Yes, it's one of *those* posts. Feel free to disregard. But this is something I need to get off my chest this morning.

For those that don't know, after Diablo 3 was pushed back to early 2012 (which most of us take to mean Q1) a lot of us were pretty annoyed. But after several 'leaks' and a long winded post on the forums that didn't amount to much, we came to hope for a release date Yesterday. Which didn't materialize.

Well, there are a few reasons why this is starting to grate on me.

1) Game is finished.

Or so we have been told. For ages. Remember "Game is pretty much done and playable from start to finish"? Months ago. Heck, in the current ratings debacle the panel got a full, playable version to work through. Beta is fairly solid, aside from a few bugs and network glitches and is 100% playable.

This leads me to beleive that it is being held back by something else (see point 3).

2) Game has been delayed already.

This is now officially the most delayed Blizzard game that hasn't actually been scrapped.
And it shouldn't have been delayed for this long! This is not going to be an e-sport, so Blizzard has no need to super balance everything. It's not an MMO. It is a small scale co-op hack 'n slasher with online functionality.

3) Game is being held back by dumb stuff.

From a post on forums a while back, Blizzard has run into a snag in Korea regarding the ratings board and the RMAH. Yes, a lot of players don't think that Blizzard will hold back the game because of 1 country - but I disagree. This is Korea. The home of Starcraft 2 and a surprisingly big part of the hardcore WoW playerbase. There is a strong possibility that Blizzard doesn't want to annoy them by holding back the game in their area only.

This is to me what grinds me the most - that a feature I honestly don't even care about much is (in my opinion) causing a delay that could last for half a year.

4) Beta.

Remember when Beta started how we were told that this would be a "very brief and limited Beta" aimed primarily to test the network and AH fuctionality? Well, at least it was half right. At this rate the Diablo 3 beta will last longer than the Starcraft 2 one.

Beta does have the odd hink and glitch here and there, but it honestly is very playable and since Blizzard's version is always well ahead of what we have - this *feels* like it should be well on the way to release.

5) The nature of hype.

Hype is a fickle thing, especially to me. The longer I wait for something the more I want it - to a point. But eventually it turns to grudging resentment and impatience. Oh - I will still buy this game and probably enjoy it, but the longer it is delayed the more dated it will start to look and the more harshly I will likely judge anything that is not *perfect* on release.

At the end of the day, this is Blizzard we are talking about. The company known for "it's done when it's done". But this doesn't feel like a quality assurance thing - it feels like the monetization features are what is holding it back.

I guess what I'm trying to say is - Blizzard, I have been patient. I am starting to get twitchy now. I would be willing to accept a couple of minor bugs or even missing features at release (to be added later). Please at least let us know how things are going - whether we can still look forward to an early 2012 release or whether we should make other plans.

Anyone else feel similarly?

Don't worry man, it will be worth the wait. It's alright, it's just a game.

If my girlfriend read that, she would tell me the same what I just said ^^

You all should of seen me watching the VGA cinematic...my face was priceless. Especially after the cinematic. Very dissapointed.

it's just a game . .

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls / Blizzard and Europe
« Dato: December 11, 2011, 06:51:21 pm »
Faldt lige over dette på EU Forum.

Hey everyone so i've seen all this hate for the US since they get all the keys etc!
If you have been a blizz fan for years you would have noticed many many more thing that US gets over the EU!

Thing 1:PRICES,Yes prices haven't you noticed that US buys WoW for 14.99$ EU buys it for 14,99euro and UK 10 pounds?

The price in euro should have been:11.2132765 or 9.61415203 Pounds if you are UK

Thing 2:BETA,Beta keys are another major issues only a few beta keys have been given out in the EU and like everyone in the US has beta keys! This has happened in most betas except WoW which where equal if i recall correctly!

Thing 3:BLUES,blues barely post in EU forums it's like the EU forum doesn't exist? Why not merge the forums? might solve the problem

Thing 4:PAYPAL,Paypal...EU can't use paypal to buy CD keys add subscription etc!

Thanks for reading share your thoughts in this thread and lets hope blizzard notices this so finally might get some love and attention and prove them that we EXIST!

The thing how long will this keep on?The answer is...Until we stop it!

http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/3061869405

Bliver vi overset her i EU ? ( Hvad synes i ? )
