Reaper of Souls beta - item-debat #1

Jeg har efterhånden spillet på min nye Crusader på en clean account i nogle timer. Hun er i øjeblikket level 40, og det har so far været en fornøjelse at spille Reaper of Souls fra 'bunden' fra første act uden nogen former for hjælpemidler som f.eks. eksisterende paragon levels osv.

Jeg vil i denne tråd lægge nogle billeder op af de items, jeg finder, og som andre linker til i den generelle chat. Tanken er, at jeg lægger to items op ad gangen. Når de er blevet kommenteret, lægger jeg yderligere to nye op. På denne måde håber jeg, at vi kan få en debat i gang om, om de forskellige items bidrager med noget nyt - nye builds osv. Jeg tænker, at jeg opretter en ny tråd, når vi har været forbi 10 items.

Lad os starte med disse to:





Lidless Wall - en gammel kending fra Diablo 2. Dog med helt andre stats (selvfølgelig). En ordentlig omgang ekstra damage for physical damage-baserede character classes. Kunne godt gå hen og blive et interessant item. Dog er de to secondaries ret kedelige og ikke noget, der få dette item til at skille sig ud. Måske det vil hjælpe med lidt enchanting.

Thunderfury - spændende item for mig at se kun pga. dets legendary egenskab med Lightning. Man mangler næsten bare at vide, hvad chancen er? Det synes jeg, desværre, er et problem generelt for mange items.

Hvad synes I? Er dette items, vi kan regne med, kommer til at betyde noget eller blive brugt af mange i Reaper of Souls?

Jeg har længe gået og undret mig over, hvornår der mon kommer en annoncering om ladders eller ingen ladders i fremtiden for D3 og for Reaper of Souls. Det kommer til at have kæmpe indflydelse på måden, vi vil spille på, når RoS/patch udgives.

While right now most of the attention is focused on the loot part of Reaper of Souls, I would like to ask a few questions on a subject that was last dealt with back in September; ladders and ladder seasons.

Travis Day confirmed that ladders will be in Reaper of Souls, though it was a somewhat strange "announcement" considering we had not had any specifics on this topic before (no REAL announcements - if you can say that): http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9948295103?page=1

Please correct me if I'm wrong but we haven't heard any news regarding ladders since back then. Given that ladders are actually implemented in the next D3 patch/Reaper of Souls, what can we expect?

- Are ladders still planned as a feature in D3/RoS?
- Will it be like in Diablo 2/Lod with two kinds of characters; ladder and non-ladder?
- Will there be any exclusive content for ladder players?
- What are the plans for the length of a ladder season?
- Any other details you can share on this topic?

I ask these questions because I see the possibility of a ladder system in D3 as having a huge impact on the way people are going to play, when RoS is released. Now with under two months until launch it would be great to know a bit more regarding this.

Konstruktiv kritik i video-review opsummerer de største svagheder ved Reaper of Souls beta.

Mens utilfredsheden med Reaper of Souls-betaen synes at have nået nye højder på Blizzards officielle fora, kan det være svært at holde styr på, på hvilke punkter det er, RoS ikke leverer. Her er et video-review fra RTG, der påpeger de største svagheder ved spillet i dets beta-fase lige nu.

Når jeg vælger at fremhæve denne video, skyldes det, at det for mange er uoverskueligt, i hvilken stand Reaper of Souls er lige nu. Meget få har adgang til betaen, og man begynder at høre flere og flere kritikpunkter i disse dage. Videoen her er en let indføring i de største problematikker. Der er tale om velmenende konstruktiv kritik, og det er præcis, hvad betaen er til for. Der er godt to måneder til udgivelse, og vi vil alle så gerne have, at Diablo 3 endelig bliver det spil, vi altid har håbet på. Om det er tid nok til at få ramt den helt rigtige formular, kan kun tiden vise. Personligt begynder jeg at tænke på, om Blizzard kunne vælge at måtte udskyde udgivelsen - det er sket før, og jeg vil hellere vente, til spillet er perfekt, end at få en middelmådig pakke.

I think I've seen all of our Sibcoe's videos at this point, and I enjoy them quite a bit. He does a great job communicating how the game feels to him, while also providing much appreciated context by defining what he likes vs. what he doesn't.

His feedback is certainly not the only we've seen, though -- so for those of you who have been writing posts about your experiences on the PTR or beta (lengthy or short), sharing videos online, or even tweeting us, know that we're listening, and that we've been making sure it all gets to the developers. Keep it up if you're keen; if not, that's cool too. We're thankful for any and all feedback you've given us.

Det skal ikke være nogen hemmelighed, at vi ser frem til den kommende tid, hvor vi har fornøjelsen af at dele en masse gaver ud til mange af jer. Vi har fået en forsinket julegave fra Blizzard som anerkendelse for vores arbejde som fanside med præmier for i alt omkring 10.000 danske kroner. Forvent opdatering om den første af en række konkurrencer inden længe, hvor vi udlodder nogle af produkterne nedenfor.

Travis Day: Timede legendary drops i Reaper of Souls

Det lader til, at der vil være et sikkerhedsnet for alle uheldige spillere, der ikke finder legendaries i RoS efter to timer.

De sidste dage har der været oprør på Blizzards fora om D3/RoS, da der udtrykkes utryghed om kvaliteten af Reaper of Souls. Især har der været udtrykt utilfredshed med måden, 'loot-gamet' virker på - dvs. måden man kommer til bedre items ved at spille spillet. Stregerne er især trukket op omkring, at legendary items dropper for sjældent i nyeste beta-version, og at gamblingen med Blood Shards (som man får i Nephalem Rifts) hos merchant Kadala, ikke er ideel. Man kan gamble legendaries hos denne merchant, men der synes at være stemning for, at man som spiller hellere vil belønnes gennem de direkte kampe i Nephalem Rifts. Der er ekstremt mange synspunkter oppe at vende, og det hele kan læses i tråden på Battle.Net, hvor en MVP i den grad sætter gang i diskussionen.

Personligt har jeg forsøgt at følge nogenlunde med i tråden, der både er blevet aflagt visit af Community Manager Nevalistis og senest Game Designer Travis Day. Sidstnævnte bringer en del ny information på banen omkring Blizzards intentioner med betaens nuværende droprates, som også synes at blive de droprates, Reaper of Souls bliver udgivet med. Igen; der er skrevet meget om emnet, så jeg vil anbefale alle interesserede at smutte forbi den ovenfor nævnte tråd. Det er fedt at se, hvor meget feedback communitiet giver til udviklerne - sommetider kan det dog koge over og udvikle sig til en heksejagt.

Jeg vil i dette indlæg fremhæve et rigtig interessant indlæg fra Hr. Day i samme tråd, hvor han nævner et aspekt, vi ikke før har hørt om; en form for timede drops. For at forstå dette udtryk, skal vi forstå, at Blizzard tilsyneladende opererer med nogle tal, der siger, at en spiller gerne skal finde et legendary minimum hver anden time. Det er i hvert fald dét, de nuværende droprates sigter imod. Til trods for dette kan RNG , der altså per tilfældighed vælger, hvad der droppes, i det sekund man dræber et monster, spille mange et puds. Mange har vel efterhånden prøvet (og her snakker jeg ikke kun om RoS beta, men også D3) at spille i flere timer uden at se skyggen af legendaries eller set items.

Travis berører dette emne og forklarer, at udviklingsholdet har udarbejdet et system i spillet, der vil sikre, at chancen for at finde legendaries forhøjes, hvis RNG efter to timer ikke har sørget for, at der er droppet et legendary item.

The fact that some people claim to go for 10+ hours without finding a legendary is not only not our intent, but should in fact be impossible. We added a system in the expansion that tracks the amount of time you spend fighting creatures without finding a legendary and after a certain period of time will slowly start increasing the legendary drop rate. Once a legendary drops for you, actual item not crafting recipe or material, we reset that timer. This is meant to be a safety net so that the random can never be too extreme to the negative end. If players are legitimately going 18+ hours and not seeing a legendary it's possible that there are some bugs floating around that need to be identified.

Ganske spændende i mine øjne. Godt eller skidt? Umiddelbart fjerner det den svaghed, D3 havde, da det udkom - at det var nærmest umuligt at finde legendaries. Samtidig kan man selvfølgelig frygte at systemet vil medvirke til for mange drops. Det er igen noget, man kan have svært ved at forholde sig til, før spillet kommer ud i sin helhed.

Ikke desto mindre vil jeg glæde mig til at sidde med et stopur, og holde øje med, når der er gået to timer, når jeg skal spille den endelige udgivelse.

Desuden vidner den omtalte tråd om, at Blizzard slet ikke er færdige med at udvikle på Reaper of Souls, hvilket Travis og Nevalistis forsikrer alle om. Lad os håbe, de har ret, og at vi virkelig får en fantastisk udgivelse i marts, selvom der er grund til bekymring på visse fronter.

Travis Day er vendt tilbage til tråden med mere info om den omtalte 'timer', og understreger blandt andet, at systemet ikke kan 'udnyttes' via eksempelvis at lade sin character stå i to timer. Han tilføjer også, at han arbejder på et hotfix, der sætter legendary droprate op til det dobbelte i betaen. Spændende, og det er fedt at se lidt interaktion med en af hovedmændene bag spillet.

Hey folks I'm back with some clarifications and some news that should please everyone.

First the clarification, the timer system that works behind the scenes is meant to be exactly that, behind the scenes. No you can't afk the system, there are a lot of moving pieces to it and we talked about it extensively before we implemented it to guarantee its not exploitable. At it's heart Diablo is a game about slaughtering demons and getting random cool rewards. The system that is in place should never be experienced by 99% of the population, it's there for the 1% who just get really bad random rolls for an excessively long period of time. If we want you to get a legendary every 2 hours, the system basically says "ok it's been like double/triple that period of time, just help the guy out!"

Second and more importantly. I'm in the process of working up another hotfix for the beta that will do 2 things.

1. Reduce the chance for Kadala to give legendary items. We have a lot of solutions to the split farming problem but they are going to take a little time to be put in place and in the mean time we don't want peoples feedback to be completely skewed based on her rewards. This reduction will be revisited once we fix all the split farming issues.

2. Double the legendary drop rate. Your feedback hasn't been falling on deaf ears, and much discussion and deliberation has gone into it. We know that drop rates aren't exactly where we want them right now and it's very important to us to get as much feedback as possible during our beta. We are going to adjust the legendary drop rates via hotfix so that you guys have as much time as possible to test and give us feedback on how the changes feel, also more time for us to compile data and get RoS to be the best it can be.

Nyeste detaljer om Diablo 3 PTR og RoS beta. Vi sætter fokus på item-ændringer.

Blizzard har udgivet ny patch på både PTR til Diablo 3 og i betaen til Reaper of Souls. Det kan muligvis være svært for nogle af forholde sig til alle ændringerne, da det er de færreste, der er dykket ned i PTR, og endnu færre der har fået adgang til betaen (vi håber stadig, at vi kan få lov at udlodde nogle beta-keys snart). Dog er der nogle ret håndgribelige ændringer iblandt, og især item-ændringerne burde kunne skabe lidt buzz hos de fleste.

- Now causes your projectiles to pierce 1-2 additional times
- Lowered pierce internal cooldown to 0.5 seconds

Pox Faulds
- Legendary Power has been redesigned
- When 3 or more enemies are within 12 yards, you release a vile stench that deals 240%-320% weapon damage as Poison every second for 10 seconds to enemies within 15 yards

Skycutter
- Now rolls 30%-40% increased damage for Holy Skills

String of Ears
- Increased Melee Damage Reduction roll to 25%-30%

Stone of Jordan
- Increased minimum roll of Bonus Damage to Elites to 25%
- Now rolls Primary stat, Elemental Damage Bonus and Maximum Resource affix families

Strongarm Bracers
- Changed from +25% damage for 3 seconds to +20-30% damage for 5 seconds

The Swami
- Reduced chance to proc Frost Nova on killing an enemy from 20-25% to 15-20%

Swamp Land Waders
- Increased bonus Poison Skill damage roll to 30-40%

Tasker and Theo

- Now only drops for Wizards

Set items skal være værd at gå efter. Få blandt andet et indblik i, hvordan det nye Tal Rasha-sæt ser ud.

Siden patch test realm og Reaper of Souls beta blev tilgængelig, har det været muligt for os at kigge lidt med på, hvordan forskellige items vil tage sig ud, når de endelige versioner til spillet udgives.

Senest har der været en tråd oppe på Battle.Net-forummet, hvor Community Manager, Nevalistis, kommenterer en spillers råd om, at set items skal forbedres. Som alle ved deres fulde fem nok ved, er de items, der findes på test realm og i beta ikke endegyldige versioner, og de vil givetvis blive ændret mange gange op til udgivelsen af patch og expansion. Dette understreger Nevalistis netop;

Nevalistis: I know I've said this before, but I'd like to reiterate that Set Items have been going through iteration behind the scenes. Not all of these changes have made it onto the PTR/Closed Beta just yet, but there's a bundle more of them coming in the next patch. =) As we approach the release of Reaper of Souls and more items are reviewed, you'll see them pop up for testing.

Eastwind: My point is: players are essentially giving up 3-5 slots for a particular set, which could have been equipped by other legendaries of exciting orange affixes. AND these makes set items lacking in comparison.

Travis mentioned this during the Design a Legendary episode hosted by Twizzcast, but generally speaking the "crazier" Legendary bonuses are usually reserved for completing Set Bonuses. If something sounds really cool, but is a bit too much of a must-have for a single gear slot, then it's a better candidate for a Set Bonus. In the same right, we also need to be sure that the cool things you get for completing a Set are worth not being able to equip other Legendaries in some of those slots.

In short, what you're asking for is already being kept in mind. As we go into the next patch, I definitely encourage you to give us feedback on Set Item bonuses, because if something feels like it needs improvement, we definitely want to know!


Endnu mere interessant får vi et indblik i, hvordan et populært item-sæt (Tal Rashas sæt) givetvis kommer til at se ud i den endelige udgivelse af patch og/eller expansion.

For the Tal Rasha set, might I recommend that the (5% more to skill) is changed to added fire damage/added cold etc to all attacks. This way all 3 of the bonuses will work and it becomes useful if you use the passive elemental exposure?

I don't believe we've shared the full details on the revised Tal Rasha's set bonuses yet, so just to make sure we're talking about the same item, here's what the upcoming bonuses on this particular set will look like:

(2) Set:
Cold skills deal 5% more damage.
Fire skills deal 5% more damage.
Lightning skills deal 5% more damage.
Arcane skills deal 5% more damage.

(3) Set:
+100 Resistance to All Elements
Increases Arcane Power Regeneration by 2.00 per second.

(4) Set:
Damaging enemies with Arcane, Cold, Fire, or Lightning will cause a Meteor of the same damage type to fall from the sky. There is an 8 second cooldown for each damage type.

The 4 Set bonus will work quite nicely with an Elemental Exposure build where you use varying elemental types across different abilities, as the cooldown for each type of Meteor is independent of the others. To really maximize this set's potential, you're encouraged to switch up your damage type, and the 2 Set bonus also encourages this style of play.

This is a pretty good example of an ability that, on a single item, would be far too powerful and a bit of a no-brainer, but as a reward for a 4-piece, feels like an awesome perk to work toward and build around.




Her må man sige, at der endnu engang lægges op til, at items bliver fundamentet for bestemte builds, da disse bonusser lægger klart op til, at man som Wizard benytter sig af eksempelvis "Elemental Exposure", som jeg selv har haft glæde af at prøve i RoS beta.

Det er ved at være tiden - d. 24. december nærmer sig, og inden vi får set os om, er julen ovre igen. Men selvom julevejret har svigtet os, og mange af os sikkert går rundt og stresser over den sidste julegave, skal det da ikke forhindre os i at kaste lidt julesne og pynte lidt op til jul her på Diablo3x.dk. Dalende sne og nissehue på logoet! Det er D3X-jul :)

Som det er tilfældet hvert år, er jeg ufattelig blank på, hvad jeg egentlig skal ønske mig. Jeg kan hurtigt skrive en masse tøj og kedelige ting på listen, men jeg vil nu altid gerne have et eller andet sjovt og nyt i julegave - en eller anden form for gadget - da det næsten er en tradition for mig at kunne sidde og lege med et eller andet nyt i juledagene.

Men nok om det. Må man få indblik i jeres ønskesedler? Inspiration er godt! :)

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls / Camelos oplevelser med Reaper of Souls beta

Jeg er så småt gået i gang med at game lidt her i eftermiddag. Jeg vil prøve at skrive lidt løbende - det bliver hovedsageligt i punktform, og så må I sige til, hvis I vil have uddybet noget. Der kommer muligvis stream online på et tidspunkt.

DER ER INGEN SPOILERS I DENNE TRÅD HISTORIE-MÆSSIGT

Jeg er blevet enormt overrasket over, at næsten hele Act 5 er playable i denne beta. Dvs. at jeg har adgang til hele historien - dog ikke adgang til sidste boss battle, som vi må formode er mod Malthael. Jeg vil ikke berøre historien i denne tråd, da jeg ikke vil spoile den for nogen.

Jeg vil dog vise nye items, skills osv.

So far har jeg valgt at kopiere min normale account til Beta-accounten, hvilket vil sige, at jeg spiller videre på min Wizard, der i Diablo 3 var Paragon Level 92. I D3: RoS er jeg startet med Paragon Level 102, da alle paragon levels er lagt sammen på min account (havde en barbarian, jeg aldrig fik spillet ret meget på.)

Her er lidt screens fra login-/game menu-området.







Som det første, da jeg kom ind i Act 5 (kunne vælges i menuen), tog jeg et kig på det helt nye Paragon Point-system. Der lå en del points og ventede på mig grundet Paragon Level 102. Der blev fordelt lidt rundhåndet til især attack speed, run speed og intelligence.









Og så bemærkede jeg selvfølgelig det lovede ekstra passive skill slot, som man først får adgang til i level 70.



Og og og... Eftersom jeg spiller som Wizard, har jeg fået adgang til et nyt skill; Black Hole. Dette skills har også rune-varianter, som dog først er tilgængelige, som jeg bevæger mig fra level 60 til 70.



- Rare items er allerede identificeret, når de dropper. Slut med at bruge tid på at identificere efter hvert run, medmindre man finder legendary?

- Der gik meget meget kort tid (3-4 minutters aktivt spil), før jeg gik fra level 60-61. Jeg startede Act 5 på sværhedsgraden 'Master'.

Allerede fundet et våben, der vidner om nye dmg-standarder. Regner med, at jeg har fundet upgrade meget snart.
